European Commission to provide EUR 100mln for energy efficiency in Ukraine

The government has pass several laws in the parliament in order to receive the funds

The parliament of Ukraine has to approve the law on Energy Efficiency Fund in order the EU can disburse available EUR 100mln for the energy efficiency in Ukraine, told European Commission Vice President Maros Sevcovic. The government of Ukraine has published on its website that the related laws are also needed, like a law regulating the energy market in Ukraine, as well as public utility services and the Ennergy Fund law itself. Maros Sevcovic confirmed the dedication of the European Commission to support reforms in the energy sector of Ukraine. To remind, the government proposed the government to organise Energy Efficiency Fund in December 2016. At this, the budget of Ukraine for 2017 has UAH 400mln for the set up of the Energy Efficiency Fund too.
