Turkish Anadolu Efes buys a stake in Ukrainian AB InBev plants

The Belgian company AB InBev sold its non-controlled part of Anadolu Efes in the joint venture AB InBev Efes BV

The press service of AB InBev Efes Ukraine announced the sale by the Belgian company AB InBev of its non-controlled part in AB InBev Efes BV (JV AB InBev and Anadolu Efes) to the Turkish Anadolu Efes.

AB InBev Efes BV owns assets in Ukraine and Russia, including three Ukrainian breweries.

The company did not note which specific part of the joint venture we are talking about.

Upon completion of the transaction, Anadolu Efes will become the sole owner of AB InBev Efes BV, the company’s press service notes.

At the same time, AB InBev Efes BV will continue to operate as usual while the transaction approval process continues, the statement said.

The Turkish brewing company Anadolu Efes and the Belgian AB InBev completed a business combination in Ukraine and Russia in March 2018. They created a new company AB InBev Efes BV. Subsidiaries Efes Breweries International and AB InBev Western European Holding each owned 50% of AB InBev Efes BV.

AB InBev began negotiations with Efes to sell its stake in the joint venture AB InBev Efes BV shortly after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
