  • Development stage: Pre-development preparation; technical specifications for gas supply have been obtained, and an application for grid connection has been submitted.

ENERGY COMPLEX CONCEPT

The investment project involves the development of an integrated energy complex combining three electricity generation and energy management technologies:

  1. Gas Engine Cogeneration (CHP) — dispatchable generation of electricity and thermal energy.

  2. Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant (SPP) — electricity generation from renewable energy.

  3. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) — electricity storage and dispatch in response to market conditions and power system requirements.

All components of the complex are expected to operate under an integrated management system, with total electricity export to the grid limited to 50 MW.

This configuration enables the integration of dispatchable gas-fired generation, renewable energy and electricity storage within a single infrastructure platform.

1. Gas Engine Cogeneration — 54 MW

The project предусматриes the installation of 12 MWM TCG 2032B V16 gas engine cogeneration units, each with an electrical capacity of 4.5 MW.

Key technical specifications per unit:

  • Rated electrical output — 4.5 MW.

  • Generator voltage — 10.5 kV.

  • Electrical efficiency — 44.3%.

  • Available thermal output — 4.424 MW.

  • Overall efficiency, including heat recovery — 87.8%.

The combined nameplate electrical capacity of the 12 units is 54 MW.

The planned operating configuration предусматриes 50 MW of generation at approximately 92.6% unit loading, providing 4 MW of installed capacity reserve.

The final operating parameters of the cogeneration equipment and its integration with other components of the complex will be determined during the engineering design stage.

2. Solar Power Plant — 15 MW

The energy complex will include the development of a solar photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 15 MW.

Two land plots with a combined area of 20.88 hectares have been allocated for the solar power plant:

  • First plot — 14.00 hectares.

  • Second plot — 6.88 hectares.

Solar generation will provide an additional source of electricity integrated with the cogeneration units and battery energy storage system.

3. Battery Energy Storage System — 50 MW

The project предусматриes the installation of a utility-scale battery energy storage system with a power capacity of 50 MW.

The BESS is intended to manage electricity export schedules, participate in power system balancing and support electricity market trading operations.

Planned capabilities include:

  • Storing electricity during periods of lower market prices.

  • Selling electricity during periods of higher prices.

  • Participating in the ancillary services market following the required qualification process.

  • Coordinating operations with gas-fired cogeneration and solar generation.

The energy storage capacity of the BESS, expressed in MWh, will be determined during the engineering design stage.

LAND PLOTS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Three land plots with a total area of 24.30 hectares have been identified for project implementation.

Land Site Structure

  • 3.42 hectares (privately owned) — designated for the installation of cogeneration units and the battery energy storage system.

  • 20.88 hectares (privately owned) — designated for the development of the solar power plant.

Geodetic and geological surveys have been completed for the site, and topographic documentation has been prepared.

The draft master plan предусматриes the designation of the site for energy infrastructure use. The master plan is currently undergoing expert review, after which it is expected to be approved by the local territorial community.

Gas Supply

Technical specifications for connecting the gas engine generation facilities to the gas supply system were obtained on September 21, 2026.

Key parameters:

  • Planned gas supply capacity — 12,000 m³/hour.

  • Connection point — a 530 mm diameter steel gas pipeline from the Vilnohirsk Gas Distribution Station.

  • Calculated minimum pressure — 0.26 MPa.

  • Design pressure at the connection point — 0.6 MPa.

Agreements have also been executed for the design of external gas networks and the arrangement of internal gas supply infrastructure.

Grid Connection

An application has been submitted to DTEK for technical specifications to connect the energy complex to the electricity grid.

A connection at the 150 kV voltage level to the transmission line between the following substations is currently under preliminary consideration:

  • VDHMK Substation — 330/150/35/6 kV.

  • Prometey Substation — 330/150/35/10 kV.

Both substations are reported to be equipped with 250 MVA autotransformers.

The final connection scheme, technical parameters and electricity export conditions will be determined following the issuance of technical specifications and the development of the grid connection design.

BUSINESS MODEL AND REVENUE STREAMS

The commercial concept envisages operating the energy complex in Ukraine’s electricity market.

1. Participation in Ukrenergo's Ancillary Services Market

The project may participate in auctions for the provision of balancing reserves to support the stability of the power system.

Implementation of this revenue stream will depend on equipment compliance with technical requirements, successful qualification and the terms of the relevant auctions.

2. Electricity Trading on the Day-Ahead Market (DAM)

The battery energy storage system may be used to purchase electricity during periods of lower prices and subsequently sell it when market prices increase.

Financial performance will depend on electricity price fluctuations, storage efficiency, technical losses and operating expenses.

The combination of different technologies within a single complex creates opportunities for flexible management of electricity generation and storage.

CURRENT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT STATUS
