Business attractiveness
In Ukraine, there is a "green tariff" – special financial conditions, when the state undertakes to buy from private households and enterprises the electricity produced from renewable energy sources at a special tariff. Today the “green tariff” amounts to 15 eurocents per 1 kWh, excluding VAT for surface solar power plants. Payments are made in hryvnia at the weighted average rate and are guaranteed by the state in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. The validity period of the green tariff is fixed by law – until 2030.
The return on investment in a solar power plant is 18-20% per annum, which is higher than the interest on a deposit in foreign currency or income from leasing an apartment. Therefore, solar energy is an attractive field for investors, especially for the sake of passive income.
