Aina Management Ltd registered in Cyprus obtained permission from the Ukrainian regulatory authorities on acquisition of TransGarant-Ukraine. Aina Management Ltd is associated with Ivestment Capital Ukraine (ICU) while TransGarant-Ukraine is a subsidiary of the Russian railways operator FESCO.
Earlier ICU was interested in setting cooperation with the EBRD with regard to a project related to the railways freight cars. In end-2016, the EBRD seized 2,400 railways freight cars under collateral of USD 90mln loan provided to InterLeaseInvest back in 2011. Interestingly, the operator of the freight cars fleet was TransGarant-Ukraine.
TransGarant-Ukraine started operations in 2003 providing freight transportation services in Ukraine, the CIS and the Baltic States. The company has offices in Kyiv, Dnipro and Donetsk of Ukraine. The freight turnover of the company amounts to 8mln tons a year. The company has 3,000 freight cars of which 2,500 are in private ownership of the company.
In the meantime, Russian FESCO that incorporates TransGarant-Ukraine and Russian TransGarant LLC is one of the major owners and operators at ports integrated with the railways logistics services in Russian Federation.
