A new agricultural infrastructure facility has begun operating in Cherkasy region, where Agro Plus 2006 has commissioned a grain elevator complex with a storage capacity of 15,000 tons alongside a feed mill. The development was announced by the USAID Agro project’s press office.
The elevator is already receiving barley and wheat, with sunflower and corn to be added shortly. At the same time, the company has introduced favorable cooperation terms for local farmers. The initiative enables producers to join a pig fattening program without significant upfront investment, providing them with support and stable income.
As part of the project, the company committed to engaging more than 80 small and medium-sized farms, offering them service support and assistance in selling their products at market prices. Industry media estimate that the total investment in the new facilities amounts to around UAH 90 million (approx. $2.2 million).
Founded in 2006, Agro Plus 2006 specializes in pedigree pig farming and breeds Large White pigs of Austrian selection. Its Tymoshivka-based pig farm, designed for 1,300 sows, operates antibiotic-free production practices. The company exports its products to Austria and Italy.
Agro Plus 2006 was established and is managed by Austrian entrepreneur Thomas Brunner.
