Chernivtsi-based retail operator Taistra Group has entered the Volyn regional market by acquiring the corporate rights to the “Salyut” supermarket chain, according to All Retail. As a result, all nine existing “Salyut” stores will now operate under Taistra Group’s management.
At the initial stage, the supermarkets will continue to operate under the “Salyut” brand. However, they will gradually be rebranded and integrated into the “Taistra” retail format, Taistra Group CEO Bohdan Klichuk told All Retail. The transition to new operational processes will be phased and is expected to be fully completed by early 2026.
Taistra Group has demonstrated significant growth during the full-scale war. The company’s revenue increased nearly fivefold — from UAH 4 million in 2020 to UAH 2.6 billion in 2024. In the first nine months of 2025, the retailer generated around UAH 2 billion in revenue, up 2.7% year-on-year, according to YouControl data.
The first Taistra stores appeared in Chernivtsi in the early 2000s. In 2021, the network was consolidated under the Taistra Group brand, which today includes more than 80 stores across the Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Ternopil regions.
In 2025, Taistra Group became the largest employer in the Chernivtsi region, employing more than 1,200 people, based on OpenDataBot analytics.
As of late September 2025, the Salyut chain consisted of nine supermarkets located in Lutsk, Kovel, Volodymyr, and Novovolynsk, with a combined retail area exceeding 4,300 sq m. The chain’s revenue in 2024 amounted to nearly UAH 1 billion, according to YouControl.
