Chinese COFCO plans to expand its terminal in the Mykolaiv seaport

The company intends to modernize the terminal by installing silos for the simultaneous storage of 40 thousand tons of grain, as well as oil storage tanks

As it was noted in the press service of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), Chinese investors show their intentions to carry out reconstruction and modernization of the transshipment complex, which is located in the rear of mooring berths No.1 and 2,with a help of this project.

In addition to upgrading the terminal, COFCO wants to use a mooring berth of 140 meters in length.

COFCO International is one of the largest agricultural producers, processors and traders in China. The company has its representative offices in 140 countries. In March 2016, COFCO took full control of the joint venture with the Hong Kong Noble Group, buying 49% of the shares for $ 750 million. In Ukraine, the Noble Group belonged to Noble Resources Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), Novoalekseevskiy Elevator LLC (Kherson region), "Satellite" LLC (Kyiv). In August 2014, the Noble Group acquired the Danube Shipping and Stevedoring Company LLC (DSSC), which owned land plots and transshipment facilities in Mykolaiv port.
