In 2025, Unex Bank’s Czech shareholders doubled the institution’s capital to UAH 739 million. According to the bank’s press service, the owners contributed an additional UAH 327 million this year, bringing the total amount of investments to the reported figure.

The capitalization process took place in several stages. At the beginning of 2025, the bank’s capital increased by UAH 120 million, including UAH 20 million raised through the early conversion of subordinated debt from 2023. In September, the authorized capital grew by another UAH 80 million, and in October, Tier 2 capital rose by UAH 247 million through a new subordinated loan, which is expected to be converted into equity capital later.

The additional funds were contributed proportionally by the two Czech shareholders — Tomáš Fiala and Ivan Svitek, who also serves as the bank’s CEO. The ownership structure remained unchanged.

The new capital will be directed toward expanding key business areas — attracting new clients, strengthening partnership programs, developing lending operations, non-trading services, and digital platforms.

Unex Bank was founded in Ukraine in 1993. Since 2017, it has focused on retail banking services, including loans, deposits, bank cards, and online solutions for individuals. Since April 2021, its owners have been Dragon Capital, the investment company of Tomáš Fiala (75%), and Ivan Svitek (24.5%).
