Domestic banks posted UAH 3.4bn (USD 126mln) in profits in Jan ─ Aug, compared to UAH 6.6bn of losses in the same period of last year. In August alone, the operating banks earned UAH 3.7bn in profits, according to the NBU report.
The revenues of the banks amounted to UAH 119.7bn, while expenses stood at UAH 116.3bn. To remind, the net loss of Ukrainian banks amounted to UAH 159bn in 2016. Earlier, the currency board of Ukraine attributed the unprofitability of the banking system of Ukraine to the operations of Privatbank and Prominvestbank at the market.
