EBRD decides to give USD 25mln loan to poultry major MHP

The facility will be channeled into construction of a biofuel plant

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development decided to grant MHP USD 25mln loan for construction a biofuel plant in Vinnytsia region of Ukraine. The new biofuel plant has a projected capacity of 10MWt.

The setting up of the plant will be implemented in the frames of the MHP Group's strategy, which implies increasing energy efficiency and tackling environmental issues from business operations of raising and slaughtering chicken.

To note, the total value of the investment project of the biofuel plant amounts to EUR 27mln.

MHP is the largest poultry producer in Ukraine. The company claims that it grasps 55% share of domestic poultry market. The exports comprise about 58% of the total revenues of MHP group of companies, the financial report of the company for H1/2017 reads. MHP posted USD 210mln in net profit for H1/2017. Notably, MHP paid out USD 78mln in dividends in the reporting period.
