The EIB is extending a €16 million partial portfolio guarantee to Piraeus Bank Ukraine as part of the EU4Business II initiative, aiming to expand access to financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country.
This instrument is part of the EU4Business II Guarantee Facility and is designed to ease lending conditions for SMEs, supporting their growth amid challenging economic circumstances.
According to the EIB, the partnership with Piraeus Bank will improve financial accessibility for entrepreneurs and help stimulate private sector economic activity.
As of April 2025, Piraeus Bank ranked 32nd out of 60 Ukrainian banks by total assets, with a portfolio of UAH 9.16 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
