European Commission to allocate EUR 32.5mln for regional projects in Ukraine

The funds will be channeled in the frames of the sectoral support program for the budgets aiming at development of the regional state administrations

European Commission decided to allocate EUR 32.5mln for the budgets in the regions of Ukraine. The decision followed the meeting of the Ukraine’s vice minister of economic development and trade mr. Max Nefedov with the head of the EU’s delegation to Ukraine mr. Hugues Mingarelli.

The Ukraine’s vice EconMin welcomed the EU support for Ukraine and emphasized the necessity to implement electronic registration and monitoring of the projects related to the foreign aid projects. Max Nefiodov also indicated to the need of monitoring of the ongoing projects too, as well as future detailed screening and publicity of the competition of the projects to be announced by the European Commission in Brussels.

EU Commissions mulls providing EUR 1bn of macro-economic aid for Ukraine, despite Ukraine did not meet some of the requirements of the previous tranche. To remind, the EU Commission decided to support Ukraine’s innovation and science related projects for EUR 17mln in the frames of the Horizon 2020 program.
