German Investor to Build 400 MW Wind Farm Near Kyiv

German company Notus Energy will construct a 400 MW wind farm in the Makariv community of Kyiv region, set to become one of the largest in the area, bringing jobs, investment, and clean energy

A German investor is moving forward with plans to build a 400 MW wind farm outside Kyiv. The Makariv community in Kyiv region has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Notus Energy, a renewable energy developer operating across multiple countries. The announcement was made by community head Vadym Tokar.

According to the project plan, approximately 60 wind turbines will be installed across the community’s territory, making the facility one of the largest in the region. The development is expected to create new jobs, attract investment into local infrastructure, and generate clean, renewable electricity with zero harmful emissions.

Tokar emphasized that amid martial law, energy security is of critical importance, and the adoption of advanced renewable technologies will make the community more resilient and independent.

The news follows a recent update on August 16 that the wind farm in Nyzhni Vorota community, Zakarpattia region, had already produced its first 25 million kWh of clean electricity for Ukraine’s power system.
