Households invest EUR 52mln in solar panels in last three years in Ukraine

Ukraine is following the world trend

A number of around 2,000 households mounted solar panels at their households last year. Since 2015, the total number of households with solar panels reached 3,010. As a result, Ukrainians invested EUR 52mln in solar panels during last three years.

The power capacity of the private solar panels is about 30kWt totaling 51MWt over the country.

The increasing demand is due to the favorable green tariff standing at 18,09 euro cents per kWt hour being pegged to the euro currency.

The leading regions where households mount solar panels are Kyiv, Dnipro, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

Some loan support programs foresee 10% discounts on a sum for the green loans in Lviv region, for example, when in Zhytomyr region the discounts can comprise up to 20% returns upon the borrowed amount.
