K41 Community Fund Acquires Historic Richter Brewery Site in Kyiv

K41 Community Fund has purchased the landmark Richter Brewery building, previously at risk of demolition, and secured a long-term lease on the surrounding lakefront land

The K41 Community Fund, a cultural initiative based in Kyiv, announced it has secured funding to acquire the historic Richter Brewery building in the city. Located at 35 Kyrylivska Street, the brewery was designated an architectural monument of local significance in 1986.

In addition to acquiring the brewery building, the fund has signed a long-term lease for the adjacent land, which includes a lake. Plans are underway to transform the area into a public park and community space.

The identity of the property’s seller has not been disclosed. Previously, developer Oleksii Baranov’s A Development had intended to build a residential complex called “Richert & Park” on the site.

According to the announcement, A Development has withdrawn from the Yurkovytsia area, and the land is now protected from residential construction.

K41 Community Fund emphasized its collaborative efforts with civil society partners, including the NGOs “Kosmos Tabir” and “Spadshchyna Kyiv,” which contributed to historical research and preservation advocacy for the site.
