Kernel mulls construction of sunflower oil plant in Western Ukraine

Kernel considers a possibility to start a new sunflower oil refining plant in Western Ukraine, told Vitaliy Stavniychuk at Kyiv International Economic Forum. Kernel is already present in Western Ukrainian running an elevator complex and other businesses too. The new sunflower oil refining plant will be constructed in 2018-2019 in Ternopil or Khmelnytsiy region. The detailed feasibility study has not been made as of yet. To remind, Kernel acquired Agro Invest Ukraine with 27 500ha of land bank in disposal this summer. Kernel is one of the leading world producers of sunflower oil making exports from the Black Sea region to the world markets. Kernel posted USD 225mln in net profits in 2016, two times more than previous year.
