Kharkiv wafer semi-finished products producer Lekorna is constructing a new plant near Zbarazh, Ternopil region. The decision to relocate production is driven by security threats in the Kharkiv region.
According to Roman Polikrovskyi, mayor of the Zbarazh community, construction work is already underway at the future site, including installation of a drainage system. The plant is expected to be launched by the end of autumn.
The new production facility will manufacture not only wafer semi-finished products but also a wide range of goods for the confectionery and culinary industries. After its opening, the enterprise will employ more than 150 people, providing new jobs for local residents and additional tax revenues for the municipal budget.
The construction is already generating economic benefits: builders, material suppliers, and local service businesses are receiving income. Some company employees have even purchased housing in the Zbarazh district, indicating their intention to tie their future to the region.
Polikrovskyi emphasized that Lekorna’s project is an important step in developing local industry and strengthening the community’s economic potential.
Earlier reports noted that western regions of Ukraine, including Zakarpattia, are becoming new centers of the country’s industrial development.
