A bread baking plant started operations under Riga Bread title, according to the press service of the Chernihiv City Council. The projected capacity of the plant amounts to 15 tons of products per day. The amount of the investments made range from EUR 3 to EUR 5mln. As of present, it works in a test mode producing about 3 tons of bread products. The plant employs 65 people at the moment. Staff will increase to 300 upon reaching the full operational mode.
The construction of the plant lasted 15 months from almost greenfield to operations, said Gennady Makarenko the CEO of the enterprise.
The enterprise will produce 16 varieties of products. So, the factory plans to produce croutons, chips and crunches. additionaly.
The product range will not target cheap segment, as the company uses a unique costly technology. The production process will be monitored by the experts from Latvia.
At the first stage, the bakery products will be delivered to Lys Mikita stores and supermarket Silpo in the Hollywood shopping center in Chernigov. In the future, the management of Riga Bread plans to organize supplies to other cities of Ukraine.
