The company Mais has begun construction of a plant for the production of potato flakes, flour, and French fries — the first facility of its kind in Ukraine. About 15–20% of the necessary equipment has already been purchased, representing part of the project’s total investment value.

The production complex is expected to be operational within two years. Once fully launched, the enterprise will require around 180,000 tons of potatoes annually. The supply model will combine in-house cultivation and purchases from farmers within a radius of approximately 150 km, primarily along the Dnipro River. Over time, the share of in-house raw materials is expected to reach at least 50%.

Currently, the company operates a potato storage facility with a capacity of 20,000 tons and plans to build at least four additional ones. The plant’s business model is based on a full production cycle — from sourcing crops from farmers to storage and year-round processing of finished products.

Earlier reports noted that Potato Agro, owned by former MP Serhiy Tereshchuk, is also building a French fries production plant with a total investment of $110 million.
