The CEO of Nova Poshta, Alexander Bulba, said that the company is investing in the sorting infrastructure, particularly in the terminal near the Boryspil airport. The terminal will combine the advanced technologies of the world postal logistics and will be able to sort up to 100 000 parcels per hour.
According to Mr Bulba, the total area of the terminal will be 35 000 m2. There will be a sorting station "Nova Poshta Global" for international shipments, internal fulfillment, parcel and cargo buildings with a high level of automation and robotization. The terminal will also be equipped with a runway for drons.
It is planned to use robotic carts at the cargo terminal to transport cargo through the terminal. They are already in use at terminals in Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro.
The terminal will simultaneously be able to unload and load 220 vehicles, which will become part of the relay logistics chain. To reduce CO2 emissions, will be implemented a system of "smart" container loading with Smart packs.
The terminal will create 300 job vacancies. The construction will take place in three stages. The first stage is planned to be launched by the end of 2022.
