Petro Pylypyuk has announced a deal to acquire the stake of Polish partner Bohdan Lukasik in Modern Expo, the retail equipment manufacturing company they co-founded. Pylypyuk previously held a 55% stake, while Lukasik owned 45%.
According to Pylypyuk, Lukasik had already stepped away from day-to-day operations and had become a passive shareholder.
Describing the transaction as “difficult but fair,” Pylypyuk noted that the agreement reflects 30 years of shared experience. The parties agreed to a gradual transfer of ownership, designed to ensure continuity and support the company’s future growth.
Under the terms of the deal, ownership will gradually transfer to Pylypyuk and his family through annual installment payments. Full control is expected to be completed over the next few years, depending on the pace of those payments.
Pylypyuk cited the diverging life plans of the partners as a reason for the buyout: Lukasik is pursuing projects outside the company, while Pylypyuk remains committed to executing an ambitious growth strategy for Modern Expo.
Modern Expo was founded in 1997 by Ukrainian Petro Pylypyuk and Polish entrepreneur Bohdan Lukasik. The company produces over 8,000 types of retail equipment, ranging from shelving and counters to checkout systems and parcel lockers.
The Modern Expo Group includes five Ukrainian companies and six international offices in Germany, France, Poland, the UK, UAE, and Cyprus. Its products are exported to 75 countries worldwide.
