Roshen channels USD 72.1mln of dividends from Russian assets to Ukraine

Roshen received USD 72.1mln of dividends for 2014-2016 from operations of Lipetsk confectionary plant

The funds were spent mainly for philanthropy projects in Ukraine, the company website reads. The Theatre at Podol received UAH 166mln, and will be opened in 2017. Another recipient is the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt for the tune of UAH 54mln, and additional UAH 30mln will be remitted in 2017. UAH 17mln were sent for houses for animals in Cherkassy zoo. The Russian assets of Ukrainian president are under management of an independent trust since January 2016. The tensions arise as Roshen blames Russia for impeding operations and selling of assets. On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin voiced at a meeting at Valday club that Russia had been responsible before investors including Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.
