Swiss Viatrans SA buys 22% stake in local insurer Persha

State Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets has allowed Swiss Viatrans SA to purchase 22% shares of the domestic insurer

The Swiss investor revealed its interest in holding equity in the domestic insurer back in March, 2016.

Insurer company Persha was registered in 2001 specializing in car insurance. The statutory capital of the company amounted to UAH 60mln (USD 2.3mln). The previous shareholders of Persha were – the Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine  – 24% shares, Mrs Natalia Bezbakh (the company’s CEO) – 33,5%, and Mr. Leonid Kostiuchenko (member of the supervisory board of the company) -33.5%, as of end Q2/2016.

Rating agency Standart-Rating expects positive effects for the company which attracted the Swiss investors. The rating agency sustained a high financial stability rating of ‘uaAA-‘ for insurer Persha, according to the national scale.
