The AMCU considers the case of purchasing of Frinet provider by Datagroup

The transaction amount may be around $19 million

The Datagroup company intends to buy the Ukrainian Internet provider Frinet, as stated the Antimonopoly Committee, which began to consider the case of economic concentration.

According to the interlocutor of the media, who is familiar with the deal, the cost of the transaction is around $19 million.

In August 2021, for the first time appeared the information that Datagroup aims to acquire the provider Frinet. In August, the amount of the transaction was estimated in the range from $ 11 million to $ 19 million.

In April 2021, the Antimonopoly Committee allowed Datagroup to acquire three companies that are part of the Volia group. The funds for the deal between Datagroup and Volia were allocated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Datagroup received $ 65 million from the EBRD.

Ukrainian provider Frinet provides broadband Internet services under the “O3” trademark. The company has more than 160 000 subscribers in Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Khmelnytsky and Chernigiv regions.
