Top Oil and Gas Executive Katsuba Becomes Co-Owner of Nadra-Geoinvest

Oleksandr Katsuba has officially acquired a 50% stake in gas producer Nadra-Geoinvest, which ranked among Ukraine’s top three private gas producers in 2025

Oleksandr Katsuba has officially become a co-owner of the gas production company Nadra-Geoinvest. According to the analytical system YouControl, he acquired a 50% stake in the company, industry outlet ExPro reports.

The stake was previously owned by Tetiana Huzenko. At the same time, sources cited by ExPro in the energy market claim that Oleksandr Katsuba had in fact been the de facto owner of the Nadra-Geoinvest group earlier and remains so, while the recent changes in the ownership structure merely formalized the existing reality.

In early December 2025, Nadra-Geoinvest acquired the Liubynetska area in the Lviv region at an auction held by the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine. The transaction value exceeded UAH 110 million, excluding VAT. During the auction, the company outbid competitors such as DTEK and ESCO-North.

By the end of 2025, Nadra-Geoinvest strengthened its position among the top three largest private gas producers in Ukraine. According to ExPro Gas&Oil Monthly, the company produced around 43 million cubic meters of natural gas in November 2025, up 28% year-on-year compared with November 2024.

Before Russia’s full-scale invasion, Nadra-Geoinvest produced approximately 7 million cubic meters of natural gas per month. In recent years, however, the company has demonstrated significant growth in production volumes.

Oleksandr Katsuba began his career in a family business in Kharkiv in 2006. In 2010, he became Deputy Director for Economics and Accounting at the Poltavagasvydobuvannia Gas Production Department, a subsidiary of Ukrgasvydobuvannia.

From 2010 to 2012, Katsuba served as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and a member of the Management Board of Chornomornaftogaz. In December 2012, he joined the Management Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine as Deputy Chairman, a position he held until 2014. After leaving the state-owned company, Katsuba moved into private business, focusing primarily on information technology projects.
