MITS Capital, with roots in both Ukraine and the United States, has invested $3.74 million in Tencore — the company behind the TerMIT robotic platform — according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The investment was made directly into Tencore’s Ukrainian legal entity under the Diia.City legal regime. According to MITS Capital CEO and co-founder Perry Boyle, this marks the first defense-tech investment by a U.S. venture capital fund into a Ukrainian company executed through this legal framework.
“This is the first defense investment by an American venture fund into a Ukrainian company, structured directly via the Diia.City regime,” the Ministry stated on Friday.
The funding will be used to scale the TerMIT robotic platform, which has already been tested under combat conditions and is currently deployed by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Tencore plans to use the raised capital to expand production and accelerate R&D. To date, the company has manufactured over 800 TerMIT platforms, NATO-codified and battlefield-proven. Production is expected to ramp up to 2,000 units by the end of 2025.
The Ministry also reported that over 300 defense-tech companies have joined Diia.City since the beginning of 2025.
Specialized robotic units will soon be deployed on the front lines as part of Ukraine’s combat brigades. Ukrainian developers are leading the supply of ground robotic systems, adapting their technologies to meet the realities of modern warfare and the operational needs of military units.
