The project investor is Korosten MDF Plant. The bioglue produced at the facility will be used in the manufacturing of environmentally friendly wood-based panels for the construction and furniture industries, according to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development.
The plant’s design capacity is 3,000 tonnes of bioglue per month. The enterprise plans to process around 1 million tonnes of peas annually — more than double Ukraine’s entire pea harvest in 2024 (465,000 tonnes). Until Ukrainian farmers expand their cultivated areas, part of the raw materials will be imported from Hungary and Poland, Kysylevskyi said.
Korosten MDF Plant is currently in negotiations with farmers in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions regarding the expansion of sowing areas and the signing of long-term supply contracts.
Planned production volumes amount to 20,000 cubic meters of eco-panels per month. In parallel, the company is constructing a similar facility in the BF Terminal Industrial Park in the Zakarpattia region.
Ninety percent of the produced eco-panels are intended for export. The company states that the products comply with EU Regulation 2023/1464, which will tighten formaldehyde limits in adhesive mixtures used for MDF and HDF board production starting 6 August 2026.
Total investments in launching bioglue and eco-panel production amounted to €40 million. To implement the project, the investor used the option to import equipment without VAT — a benefit provided under Ukrainian legislation for industrial park participants.
The Korosten Industrial Park covers 42.2 hectares and brings together a cluster of wood-processing companies, including Ukrainian Holding Sawmill Company, Rezalt Eco, Korosten MDF Plant, BF Engineering, and BF Project.
In 2024, the Korosten Industrial Park received UAH 83.5 million in state co-financing (50/50) under the national Industrial Parks Infrastructure Development Programme. The funds were allocated for the construction of an access road.
