Ukraine to invest UAH 85bn (USD 3bn) in infrastructure in 2018

Ukraine will invest UAH 85bn (USD 3bn) in infrastructural projects in 2018, told Volodymyr Omelyan the minister of infrastructure at the official press conference. In particular, UAH 50bn will be channeled for 4,000km of the road repairs; UAH 18.4bn will be allocated for the renewal of rolling stock and other transport facilities; UAH 10bn will go to transport infrastructure improvements; UAH 4.3bn will be transferred for the development and modernization of ports; and UAH 3.8bn will be absorbed by the aviation industry projects.

The ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine plans to engage leading world investors in the sector too, like General Electric, Bombardier, Hutchison Ports, DP World and other, told Volodymyr Omelian.

The ministry wishes to enlarge the presence of budget airlines’ flies, carry reconstructions of the regional airports of the country along with deregulation of the inter-regional transportation within the country.

To note, Ukraine plans to sign a framework loan agreement for USD 7bn with China.
