Ukrainian AI startup AiSDR raises $3 million from Y Combinator, Flyer One Ventures, SID Venture, etc

AiSDR, a US startup founded by two Ukrainian entrepreneurs in August 2023, has just raised $3 million to develop its AI-powered sales support solution.

AiSDR develops an AI-powered tool that builds a customer profile, creates personalized email campaigns, and books appointments with leads on autopilot. As of December 2024, the platform performs equally well against industry benchmarks as humans but much cheaper.

The latest funding round saw participation from Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, SID Venture Partners, Pioneer Fund, Rahul Mehta (managing partner at DST Global), SCM Advisors,  Bluepointe Ventures, Matt MacInnis (COO of Rippling), Flyer One Ventures, Terrence Rohan (investor in Figma, Notion), and Nick Bilogorskiy (managing partner at 408 Ventures).

The startup will use the money to make its messaging more personalized, introduce self-onboarding, and add new features. AiSDR intends to be a single platform for prospect outreach, providing leads, monitoring domain health, and designing and performing email campaigns.

“Companies spend about $80,000 per year on a single sales development representative, and many of them fail to meet the quota. Their efficiency is declining, and companies are downsizing their SDR teams. So, we have developed a tool that can engage with potential customers up to the point of a video call, charging only 10% of the typical cost of such a specialist.” says Yuriy Zaremba, AiSDR co-founder.

Since AiSDR’s public launch in August 2023, it has already attracted over 40 clients, with over 200 demos booked in a week after the launch. The majority of clients are B2B businesses from the U.S.

The software analyzes the client’s website and, based on this data, develops an ideal customer profile and communication style, which it uses with prospects. This results in a response rate on par with human outreach — between 5% and 8%.

AiSDR is co-founded by Ukrainians Yuriy and Oleg Zaremba and operates in the U.S. The two brothers previously founded AXDRAFT, a document automation and CLM software company, which was also a Y Combinator alumni. AXDRAFT was acquired by Onit in 2020.

Yuriy worked for 6 years in sales: he spearheaded the sales efforts at AXDRAFT and, after its acquisition, led sales teams at Onit. Oleg Zaremba served as the CTO at AXDRAFT and worked as a senior software engineer at Booking.com. In 2023, Oleg was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and was named one of Ukraine’s “creators of the future.”

The brothers spent years in B2B software sales and never liked how SDRs qualified leads. In June 2023, they came up with an idea to entrust AI with this task. A month later, they pitched it to Y Combinator and joined the legendary accelerator for the second time.

Apart from the founders, AiSDR employs ten people who work on customer support, product design, and development. It plans to expand the team in the near future to enhance the product and reach $2 million in ARR within 12 months. The startup’s current average monthly revenue growth rate is 65%.

“There are about 600,000 SDRs in the U.S., which means that American companies spend $48 billion annually on these specialists — money that can be directed toward product development and business expansion,” says Vital Laptenok, general partner at Flyer One Ventures.

“Unlike other existing sales optimization tools, AiSDR is used by sales and marketing departments rather than individual sales reps. This means a business can save 90% on SDR costs while the startup takes care of everything: lead scoring, delivery, content, nurturing, follow-up, and objections in a personalized way. The communication between AiSDR and a human looks so natural that it’s almost eerie.” Vital Laptenok says.
