Ukrainian Defence Startup DoD Solution Prepares to Raise Venture Capital

Ukrainian DefenceTech startup DoD Solution (formerly Banderodron) is entering a new stage of development focused on attracting external financing from venture funds

Ukrainian DefenceTech startup DoD Solution (formerly Banderodron) is entering a new stage of development with a focus on raising external financing from venture funds. Effective March 16, the company’s new CEO will be Roman Hapachylo, former Vice President of Talent Management at IT company Intellias, who intends to focus on building the business structure, advancing product development, and working with investors.

DoD Solution develops autonomy modules for drones, including navigation systems, object recognition, and terminal guidance solutions for FPV drones, fixed-wing UAVs, and interceptor drones. The 25-person team develops both hardware components, including single-board computers, and software.

The company was founded in 2023 by Lviv-based entrepreneurs Ivan Oleksii and Nazar Kravchuk. Among the co-founders, Roman Hapachylo is also listed with a 42.5% stake; prior to this appointment, he had worked with DoD Solution as a consultant. Former CEO Nazar Kravchuk will now focus on the product direction in the role of CPO.

The startup’s key priority for the near term is to raise capital from venture investors. Until now, the company had been developing with the support of an angel investor from Germany who, according to Hapachylo, invested around EUR 300,000 without taking an equity stake in the company. This funding model allowed the startup to pass through its early development stage and bring the product to the stage of practical deployment.

In 2025, DoD Solution delivered its auto-guidance system to military units. According to the company, the system demonstrated an effectiveness rate of around 80% under testing ground conditions, which could become an important argument for potential investors during the next financing round.

The company plans to use the raised funds to develop new single-board computers for more powerful interceptor drones and fixed-wing UAVs, as well as to scale the business, build out its operating structure, and strengthen customer engagement.

The story of DoD Solution reflects a broader trend in Ukraine’s DefenceTech market, where startups are moving from the engineering development stage toward business institutionalization and the search for venture capital. The appointment of a CEO with experience at a large technology company may signal DoD Solution’s intention to enhance its investment appeal and prepare for a new stage of growth.
