Ukrainian-Estonian defense technology company DOD Solution has raised $2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round to develop and scale its AURA AI platform, which enables unmanned systems to operate autonomously when GPS is unavailable and communications are limited or lost.
DOD Solution develops onboard computers and autonomy systems for unmanned platforms. The company announced the funding round on September 28. The proceeds will be used to further develop the AURA AI platform and expand its deployment across unmanned systems.
AURA AI combines the AURA SBC onboard computer with AURA OS software. The platform provides autonomous navigation, environmental perception, target detection and tracking, as well as terminal guidance. The technology is designed to operate in electronic warfare environments where a drone may lose GPS or its communication link with the operator.
The solution can be integrated into various types of unmanned systems, including FPV drones, interceptor drones, and fixed-wing aircraft. According to the company, the technology has already been deployed in combat conditions in Ukraine.
The funding round included venture funds and investors from Ukraine, the European Union, the United States, and Canada. Participants included Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures, and 4 °C-Next Holding AG. Canadian drone technology company Draganfly joined the round as a strategic investor.
DOD Solution also cooperates with technology and industry partners Lantronix, Axelera AI, and Defsecintel Solutions. These partnerships cover onboard computing, AI acceleration, and integrated counter-UAS solutions.
DOD Solution was founded in 2023 by Lviv entrepreneurs Ivan Oleksii and Nazar Kravchuk, with CEO Roman Hapachylo also listed among the co-founders. In 2025, the company supplied military units with its own automatic terminal guidance system.
In March 2026, DOD Solution opened a €1 million pre-seed round to support further technology development. Planned investment areas included the AURA platform, AI-based autonomy systems, high-performance onboard computers for unmanned systems and interceptor drones, as well as technologies for coordinating groups of unmanned platforms.
On September 23, DOD Solution and German-Ukrainian drone manufacturer United Unmanned Systems agreed to expand the integration of DOD Solution’s onboard autonomy technologies into UUS strike drones.
The $2.1 million raised will enable DOD Solution to scale the development of AURA AI and expand the use of autonomous technologies across unmanned systems.
