Ukrainian defense company TAF Industries and Danish technology company Upteko have agreed to establish a joint venture in Denmark focused on the development and production of unmanned systems. The partners plan to scale up FPV drone production and reach output of thousands of drones per month from early 2027.
The companies signed a memorandum of cooperation on August 19 during DALO Industry Days in Herning, Denmark. The agreement was signed by TAF Industries CEO Volodymyr Zinovskyi and Upteko founder Benjamin Meinertz.
The establishment of the joint venture will form part of Ukraine’s Build with Ukraine initiative, which aims to relocate and develop production capacity of Ukrainian defense companies abroad in partnership with foreign businesses. The approach enables Ukrainian manufacturers to expand weapons production while diversifying their manufacturing and logistics chains.
One of the key areas of cooperation between TAF Industries and Upteko will be the scaling of FPV drone production. The partners also intend to jointly develop unmanned technologies, conduct engineering and R&D activities, and build a more resilient component supply system.
TAF Industries and Upteko plan to establish a manufacturing facility and development office in Denmark. The new site is expected to serve as a base for joint research, engineering development and serial production of unmanned systems.
According to Volodymyr Zinovskyi, the partnership will combine Upteko’s engineering expertise with TAF Industries’ experience in scaling production. Another key advantage of the Ukrainian partner is its practical experience of drone deployment on the battlefield and feedback from Ukrainian military personnel, which is used in the development and improvement of new systems.
For TAF Industries, establishing production capacity in Denmark marks another stage of its international expansion. The company, previously operating under the TAF Drones brand, specializes in the development and production of defense technologies and has been creating solutions since 2023 aimed at enhancing combat capabilities and protecting military personnel and civilians.
TAF Industries operates its own R&D center, a network of manufacturing sites and an engineering team. The company produces more than 30 types of products, most of which have been certified by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. Its portfolio includes strike and reconnaissance drones, relay carrier platforms, electronic warfare systems, remote-control systems and artificial intelligence-based solutions.
The Ukrainian company’s production capacity allows it to manufacture up to 80,000 FPV drones per month, more than 100 electronic warfare systems and over 1,000 units of auxiliary equipment. The establishment of the Danish facility is expected to further increase the company’s production capacity and bring it closer to European markets and defense customers.
Upteko is a Danish technology company founded in 2018. It specializes in unmanned solutions for the maritime and industrial sectors and combines expertise in unmanned systems, electronics, software and hardware development.
The company works with industrial partners, government institutions and maritime-sector organizations. Its technologies are focused on developing integrated unmanned solutions tailored to specific customer requirements.
The joint venture between TAF Industries and Upteko is expected to combine Ukraine’s experience in mass production and combat deployment of FPV drones with Danish engineering and technological expertise. Production in Denmark is planned to launch with the goal of reaching output of thousands of drones per month from early 2027.
