Ukrainian Startup Contera.ai Joins Techstars Tokyo and Secures $120K in Pre-Seed Funding

The AI-powered SaaS platform automating e-commerce marketing becomes the first Ukrainian startup to enter Techstars Tokyo

Contera.ai is building a SaaS platform that automates up to 60% of marketing tasks for e-commerce businesses, according to founder Emin Alekperov in a comment to Forbes Ukraine. As part of its participation in Techstars, the company has received $100,000 via a SAFE instrument in exchange for a 5% equity stake.

In 2025, Contera.ai became the first Ukrainian startup selected for the Techstars Tokyo cohort, joining a group of 12 participants. Its platform processes data on products, advertising campaign performance, and competitor ads to generate actionable marketing insights — from ad creative generation to SEO enhancement.

The startup targets small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S., as well as marketing agencies. It currently serves around 20 paying clients. Subscription pricing starts at $49/month, with custom terms available for enterprise users. Contera.ai is currently at the pre-seed stage.

The company was founded in 2024 by Emin Alekperov (co-founder of LegionFarm, a gaming skills platform with $8M in 2024 revenue), Victor Levchenko (creator of Adsme, which acquired HR startup JobCannon in 2024), and Vitaliy Alekperov. In February 2025, Contera.ai won the Demo Day of Ukraine’s YEP Accelerator, securing a $25,000 non-dilutive grant.

Techstars, founded in 2006, is a global startup accelerator network. Notable alumni include Uber, Twilio, Chainalysis, DigitalOcean, SendGrid, PillPack, Zipline, and ClassPass.
