A consortium of China Pacific Construction Group that includes China Railway International and China Railway International Group Co. Ltd signed an agreement of cooperation with the Kyiv city State Administration. In the frames of the agreement, a working group consisting of the Chinese and Ukrainian experts will prepare feasible technical and financial solutions for the realization of the construction of the fourth metro line in Kyiv to contribute to better transportation for Troieshchyna neighborhood.
The construction cost of the fourth metro line stands at USD 2bn, of which 85% will be financed from loans by the Chinese financial institutions. The loans will be guaranteed by the state. The facilities will mature in 15 or 20 years. The interest rate has not yet been agreed and is a subject for the next meetings. The new metro line will be 18km long with 13 stations. At this, anew transfer station will be erected being 1km long and connecting the circle city train and the new line of the metro system.
The project realization will take up to 5 years.
To note, Kyiv city metro has three lines with a total length of more than 67km and 52 stations. It carries close to 1.5mln passengers daily.
