The court has seized the corporate rights of the wife of the former MP of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk, Oksana Marchenko, who is suspected of high treason, at Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant for more than UAH 1 billion, according to the website of the Security Service of Ukraine.
"The court decision concerns 13.7% of the company's shares, which Medvedchuk's wife owns through four offshore companies. Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant is a monopoly producer of metal manganese in Ukraine, it is included in the list of the largest metallurgical companies in Europe. The seizure of assets will protect them from sale or re-registration on figureheads and in the future will allow transferring in favor of our state," the report says.
The service also recalled that Marchenko's property for a total amount of more than UAH 6 billion had already been arrested as part of criminal proceedings on her suspicion of financing Russian occupation groups.
In February of this year, SBU investigators notified Marchenko of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (financing actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or the state border of Ukraine).
The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in Ivano-Frankivsk region under the procedural leadership of the regional prosecutor's office.
