Trypillian, a UK-Ukrainian defense technology startup, has raised $5 million from Brooks Newmark, former UK Minister for Civil Society and Member of Parliament. The company, founded in 2024 by veterans and military experts from both Ukraine and the United Kingdom, is developing combat-proven technologies including deep-strike systems, battlefield communication tools, and autonomous solutions aimed at reducing soldier risk and increasing front-line effectiveness.
With offices in London and Kyiv, Trypillian’s Ukrainian team is composed almost entirely of war veterans. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Ivan Matvieichenko, a veteran of the battles for Bakhmut and Soledar.
“We’ve seen the war firsthand and came together to build technologies that protect Ukraine and save lives,” said Matvieichenko.
Brooks Newmark, who has supported Ukraine since the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion through the humanitarian initiative Angels for Ukraine, emphasized: “Ukraine needs reliable partners, not empty promises. Trypillian represents the future — not just for Ukraine, but for the world.”
