OSTCHEM, the nitrogen fertilizer holding within Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, is launching industrial production of a new nitrogen fertilizer product — AMS30 ammonium nitrate — at the Rivneazot plant in Rivne region. The company’s press service told LIGA.net that a pilot batch of 600 tonnes was sold out in the shortest possible time, confirming strong demand from agricultural producers. Industrial-scale production of the new product is scheduled for the second half of April 2026.
AMS30 contains 30% nitrogen, which is lower than in conventional ammonium nitrate; however, the fertilizer can be tailored to the specific needs of agricultural producers, with planned enrichment with calcium and magnesium, and sulfur enrichment (4.7% and 7%) at the second stage. This flexible positioning allows the company to enter the market with a product capable of replacing imported alternatives and meeting farmers’ demand for more cost-efficient and technologically tailored fertilizers.
Production is based on existing capacities for limestone-ammonium nitrate, where steam is used instead of natural gas. The first-stage capacities allow for output of 600–800 tonnes per day, with the possibility of increasing to 1,600 tonnes, creating potential for scaling and further revenue growth.
The total cost of the project amounted to UAH 10 million, with an implementation period of just six months. Technical specifications for AMS30 have already been developed and registered, confirming the product’s compliance with national standards.
OSTCHEM unites Ukraine’s largest mineral fertilizer producers, including Rivneazot, Cherkasy Azot, as well as Severodonetsk Azot and Stirol, which are located in temporarily occupied territories and are not operating. In 2025, the holding’s enterprises produced 1.57 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers, which was 12.7% less than in 2024 (1.8 million tonnes). At the same time, the launch of AMS30 demonstrates the company’s strategic focus on innovation and strengthening competitiveness in the domestic market.
From an investment perspective, the AMS30 project represents a relatively low-cost and fast-track production upgrade — UAH 10 million and six months of implementation — allowing OSTCHEM to strengthen its position in the fertilizer market, expand its product range, and offer farmers more tailored and cost-efficient solutions, while also creating potential for higher production volumes in the future.
