The exports decreased by 9% y/y to USD 22.72bn in Jan-Aug, while imports reduced by 0.9% y/y to USD 24.2bn, according to State Statistics Committee.
The export-import cover ratio was 0.94 compared to 1.02 in Jan-Aug 2015. The exports to the EU incremented by 4.4% y/y in USD 8.6bn accounting to almost 38% of the country's overall exports, while imports from the EU stood at almost 44% of the total imports. Meantime, exports to the Russian Federation shrunk by 30% y/y to USD 2.23bn, and imports from Russia plummeted by 36.8% to USD 3.1bn in the reporting period.
