Gnidava Sugar Plant (Lutsk) will build a brand new biogas plant to be located in the Volyn region of Western Ukraine, according to the company’s website. The company will generate electricity by burning pulp at the cogeneration plant.
Earlier, Gnidava Sugar Plant planned to allocate EUR 15mln during five years in order to carry modernization of its equipment. As a result, the enterprise purchased this year the pressing machines for squeezing out pulp that will contribute to increasing the output.
The plant also set on purchasing the molecular presses which allow cleaning waste from sugar beet production and make fertilizers of it.
The production capacity of the sugar plant is at 5,000 tons of processing sugar beets per day, as the corporate website reads.
According to the results of the last year, Gnidava Sugar Plant posted UAH 15mln in net profit in 2016 compared to UAH 4mln in net loss in 2015.
To remind, the major agricultural MHP plans to attract a loan from the EBRD in order to build a biogas plant too.
