Mirai Tech Inc., co-founded by Ukrainian entrepreneur Dmytro Shvets, has raised $10 million in a seed funding round. The round was led by venture capital firm Uncork Capital, with participation from angel investors. Shvets announced the funding on LinkedIn.
The company is developing infrastructure that enables AI models to run directly on user devices — including smartphones and laptops — without the need for constant cloud connectivity. Following the funding round, Mirai Tech plans to focus on partnerships with AI model developers to adapt their solutions for on-device deployment across areas such as text processing, voice technologies, and computer vision.
The project’s concept is linked to the rising cost of real-time AI cloud computing. Running models locally reduces infrastructure expenses, eliminates per-query cloud fees, and lowers service latency. In comments to TechCrunch, Shvets said he and co-founder Oleksii Moiseienkov arrived at the idea after observing that, amid the generative AI boom, industry focus has largely centered on cloud-based solutions, while tools for deploying AI directly on consumer devices remain limited. The founders met in London.
Oleksii Moiseienkov previously co-created the popular Prisma app (2016), which used AI to transform photos into stylized images. He later worked with Andrii Usoltsev on the AI photo-editing app Lensa. A December 2022 article in The Washington Post noted that the app raised questions regarding user privacy and drew complaints over the generation of explicit images without individuals’ consent.
Dmytro Shvets is also known as a co-founder of the Ukrainian startup Reface. In December 2025, Reface raised $18 million in a funding round led by PvX Partners.
