The currency board of Ukraine increased its assets by 3.5% year-to-date to UAH 973bn (USD 36bn) in H1/2017, the NBU report reads. In particular, the increase is attributed to the growth of NBU foreign reserves by 16% ytd to USD 17.9bn.
As of July 1, SDRs amounted to UAH 82bn and monetary gold accumulation reached UAH 25.4bn. The NBU also increased holdings in securities by UAH 11.5bn to UAH 804.4bn in the reporting period. The currency board’s capital stood at UAH 169bn, as of end-June. To remind, the NBU assets amounted to UAH 940.5bn, up 11% y/y, as of January 1, 2017.
