The AMCU has approved the acquisition of majority stakes by Astarta in Agro-KA Poltava, Zlagoda Plus from Poltava region and Agro-Region located in Zhytomyr oblast of Ukraine. To note, Astarta plans to attract USD 25mln loan from the EBRD. The EBRD will announce its decision by end-October. Astarta plans to channeled the funds from the EBRD for purchasing and construction of grains warehouses with a projected capacity of 480 000tons. The company also revealed plans to erect 50tons grains warehouse too. Astarta is a vertically integrated agricultural holding that operates in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsk, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Chernigiv, Cherkassy and Khmelnytskiy regions of Ukraine. The holding has 250 000ha of arable land in disposal and runs 8 sugar plants.
