TAS Agro of Serhii Tihipko to Expand Land Bank to 120,000 Hectares by 2028

TAS Agro plans to increase its land bank to 120,000 hectares by 2028 while investing in livestock modernization and optimizing its grain storage infrastructure

TAS Agro, the agricultural holding within Serhii Tihipko’s TAS Group, has announced plans for a major expansion of its land bank — from nearly 80,000 hectares currently to 100,000 hectares by the end of this year, and to 120,000 hectares by 2028 in the longer term. The plans were announced by the company’s CEO, Oleh Zapletniuk.

According to him, the company is already considering acquisitions of new assets that would allow it to approach the 100,000-hectare mark in the near future. The next stage of growth will be to increase the land bank to 120,000 hectares over the next several years through strategic acquisitions and the expansion of its land portfolio.

In addition to crop production, TAS Agro is developing its livestock business. The company operates four dairy farms, including a unique project producing artisanal products made from buffalo milk. Its total cattle herd stands at around 3,000 head, including approximately 1,500 dairy cows.

The company says it is shifting from traditional livestock farming to a more technology-driven and productive model focused on improving animal welfare conditions, increasing production efficiency, and enhancing the quality of dairy and meat products. Most of its milk already meets extra and premium-grade standards and is supplied to leading processing companies in Ukraine and abroad.

Separately, the company is implementing a project aimed at aligning its operations with European animal welfare standards. As part of this strategy, all farms are being consolidated in Mykhailivka, Vinnytsia region, where a large-scale modernization program is underway: stalls are being expanded, loose housing is being introduced, soft resting mats for animals are being installed, modern ventilation systems are being deployed, and gentler milking technologies are being adopted.

The total investment in modernizing the livestock segment is estimated at approximately $15 million over the next three years. At the same time, the buffalo farm will remain at its current location, while the dairy business will be centralized in Mykhailivka.

At the same time, TAS Agro is upgrading its grain storage infrastructure: following the acquisition of the new Budyshchenskyi elevator, the company has launched the sale of four outdated assets through the Prozorro.Sale system, optimizing its logistics network.
