Ukrainian defense company TAF Industries has agreed on a strategic partnership with Germany’s Thyra to launch joint production of interceptor drones. The relevant memorandum was signed under the Build with Ukraine initiative, which is aimed at strengthening defense cooperation between Ukraine and its European partners.
The key element of the agreement is the establishment of a joint venture in Germany, where serial production of TAF Kolibri i10 interceptor drones is planned. These technologies are used to intercept hostile unmanned aerial vehicles and are of critical importance for air defense.
The main goal of the partnership is to accelerate deliveries of such systems to Ukraine, increase production volumes, and at the same time bring Ukrainian defense technologies to the European market. In effect, this means not only strengthening defense capabilities, but also expanding exports of Ukrainian MilTech solutions.
In addition to manufacturing, the cooperation will also include the joint development of new solutions, although details have not been disclosed. This implies technology exchange and further product development.
TAF Industries is a Ukrainian MilTech company, previously known as TAF Drones, which has been actively developing defense technologies since 2023. The company has its own research and development center, manufacturing facilities, and engineering team.
TAF’s portfolio currently includes more than 30 products, most of which have already been certified by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense. These include:
- strike and reconnaissance drones
- FPV drones
- electronic warfare systems
- communications relays
- remote control systems
- artificial intelligence-based solutions
The company’s production scale is substantial. Each month it manufactures up to:
- 80,000 FPV drones
- more than 100 electronic warfare systems
- more than 1,000 units of supporting equipment
From a business perspective, the company is demonstrating rapid growth: in 2025, revenue increased by 80%, although absolute figures have not been disclosed. According to CEO Volodymyr Zinovskyi, the growth has been driven by both government contracts and direct orders.
Overall, the partnership with Thyra can be seen as a step toward the internationalization of Ukrainian defense manufacturing, an increase in the output of critical technologies, and a strengthening of the position of Ukrainian companies in the European defense market.
