Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association (UCAB) and AgriEvent Agency invite you to visit the VII International Conference Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine: Time for Profound Changes that will take place on December 10 in Kyiv. The event that annually brings together executives and business owners, government representatives and international experts will focus on the results of 2015 for Ukrainian agricultural sector and on possibilities for its development during the next year.
According to Taras Vysotskyi, general director of Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, the purpose of the event is to bring together all stakeholders of the agricultural sector - representatives of government and business, professionals and experts who will share the international experience of reforming.
"This is the last year when you can make modifications in the sector. And we can not lose the chance that we were given in 2014. Therefore, UCAB initiated a global discussion to define the vector of development of agriculture in the coming years "- Taras Vysotskyi mentions.
The first session of the event will focus on the steps towards reforms that were made and on structural changes in the sector that are expected in the nearest future. In discussions with the authorities the participants of the conference will discuss the progress of reforms in the agricultural sector and listen to the Polish experience of changes in agriculture during 2003-2005.
During the second session the achievements of agricultural producers in 2015 will be analized (what volumes of agricultural production were produced, sold and exported) and also a short-term prospect of market environment will be defined.
The third session of the conference will be focused on doing business and emphasis on niche products. Today, there is a clear downward trend on commodity markets for the next 5-10 years. And if in the previous period economists spoke of cyclical trends, now 95% of them believe that commodities are in the long-term downward price trend. Accordingly, the margin of production of such classic goods as grain and oil is decreasing. Thus, there is a need to search for highly promising niches that will allow agricultural producers to accelerate the profitability of capital. There are all necessary backgrounds for their development in Ukraine: natural and climatic conditions, technology, potential of EU and Middle East markets. However, agricultural producers are often not aware of the additional opportunities that the production of profit-making products give. Therefore, on the third session of the conference the most successful agricultural producers will share their experience of production of niche products and promoting them on the market.
