1.5 MW Vykhor 2 wind farm with annual generation of 3,000 MWh to be built in Ternopil region

A 1.5 MW wind power plant with a single turbine and annual electricity generation of around 3,000 MWh is planned for construction in Ukraine’s Ternopil region

A wind power plant with a nominal capacity of 1.5 MW and annual electricity generation of around 3,000 MWh is planned for construction in Ternopil region, according to industry publication ExPro.

The project is being implemented by Vykhor 2 LLC, founded by Petro Zemba. Construction is planned outside the village of Staryi Skalat in Ternopil district, within the Skalat urban community. A notice on the start of the environmental impact assessment procedure has already been published in the Unified Environmental Impact Assessment Register.

The project provides for the installation of one RePower MD77 wind turbine. The tower height will be up to 110 meters, while the rotor diameter will be 77 meters.

Despite the relatively small scale of the current project, the region remains one of the promising areas for wind power development. In March 2026, it became known that OKKO Group had acquired the project of UA Renergy LLC, which had planned the construction of a much larger 272 MW wind farm in Ternopil region. That project involved a wind park of up to 40 turbines between Pidvolochysk and Skalat.

Overall, wind power remains an important area for the development of Ukraine’s energy sector. According to Ukrenergo estimates, the country needs an additional approximately 4 GW of wind power capacity and 3.8 GW of solar generation.

Ukraine’s National Renewable Energy Action Plan through 2030 envisages increasing the country’s installed wind power capacity to 6.2 GW. The document also provides for the launch of the country’s first offshore wind power plants.
