EBRD and UKRSIBBANK Provide a UAH 150 Million Guarantee to EVA to Expand Logistics

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group have announced a new support instrument for the health and beauty retail chain EVA (RUSH LLC)

The bank is providing an unfunded risk-sharing guarantee of UAH 150 million (≈$3.6 million / €3.1 million), covering 50% of a UKRSIBBANK loan aimed at modernizing and expanding the retailer’s logistics hubs.

This is UKRSIBBANK’s first transaction under the EBRD’s risk-sharing program for investment loans to corporate clients. Previously, the bank could use EBRD guarantees only for working-capital financing. The expansion of risk-sharing eligibility is part of broader efforts to prepare EBRD instruments for Ukraine’s large-scale post-war reconstruction.

Liliya Volenko, CFO of RUSH LLC, emphasized that cooperation with the EBRD confirms EVA’s financial resilience: “We underwent an in-depth assessment by the EBRD — this is evidence of our reliability and the strength of our business model. The agreement demonstrates that even during wartime, Ukrainian companies can secure long-term financing with the support of international institutions.”

EVA, operated by RUSH LLC, is one of Ukraine’s largest health & beauty retailers and ranks among the country’s top 100 private companies (45th place in the 2024 Forbes Ukraine list). The company operates more than 1,000 stores nationwide and continues to expand despite the war.

UKRSIBBANK, which has partnered with EVA since 2019, has extensive experience in financing the corporate sector, agribusiness, and international companies. The bank’s controlling stake is held by BNP Paribas, while the EBRD is a minority shareholder.

The EBRD remains Ukraine’s largest institutional investor: its total investments exceed €22 billion across more than 600 projects. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the bank has already deployed over €7 billion to support the Ukrainian economy.
