As of start-2018, there were 474 investment projects undertaken in agriculture for the total worth of UAH 41.3bn (USD 1.59bn), according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. The investment cost of a project varies from UAH 0.1mln to UAH 9.6bn.
The most active development of agriculture is in Vinnytsia region to the tune of UAH 6.3bn, Kyiv region absorbed UAH 1.1bn of agricultural investment, Poltava region ─ UAH 0.6bn, Cherkassy ─ UAH 0.4bn, and Summy ─ UAH 0.4bn too.
Cattle breeding comprise 112 projects accounting to 24% of the total, pig farming ─ 59 (or 12%), poultry production ─ 27 (or 6%), grains processing and storage ─ 88 (or 19%), fruits and vegs warehousing ─ 58 (or 12%), perennial planting ─ 20 (or 4%), and there are 14 irrigation projects that make 3% of the total agricultural investment projects undertaken in the territory of Ukraine.
To compare, a number of 380 projects were in the process of implementation to the tune of UAH 27.9bn, as of January 1, 2017.
