Agricultural holding Agroton plans to expand its land bank in Kharkiv region through the acquisition of assets from Kernel. To this end, the company has filed an application with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) seeking approval to acquire the agricultural enterprise Mriya LLC, which is part of Kernel’s corporate structure.
According to the draft agenda of the AMCU, the case concerns granting permission to Cyprus-based Agroton Public Limited, affiliated with Agroton, to establish control over Mriya LLC. This would involve the acquisition of a stake providing more than 50% of the voting rights in the company’s highest governing body.
According to Latifundist.com, the transaction was in fact completed back in December 2025. Under the deal, Agroton is acquiring approximately 14,000 hectares of agricultural land.
According to YouControl data, the ultimate beneficial owner of Mriya is Andriy Verevskyi, founder of the Kernel agricultural holding.
It is worth noting that after the start of the full-scale invasion, Agroton lost its entire land bank, which had previously amounted to around 110,000 hectares. In 2025, the company began rebuilding its asset base and acquired land from Agroprosperis, increasing its land bank to 7,500 hectares.
Following completion of the Mriya acquisition, Agroton’s total land bank will grow to approximately 21,500 hectares, marking an important step in the company’s recovery and business expansion.
